William Venus – A US navy veteran turned full time musician; William grew up playing his favorite electric guitar solos right here in Kyle, Texas. Upon graduating from Lehman High School, he decided to put music dreams on hold to join the United States Navy. He proudly served 4 years on Naval Air Station Coronado in San Diego, California, specializing in aviation maintenance. Upon completion of his service, William auditioned and was accepted into San Diego Mesa College’s Applied Music Program to begin his performance degree in classical guitar under the direction of Dr. N . Scott Robinson and Professor Ian Bassett. After 2 years of intense classical study, William decided to move back to his hometown of Kyle, Texas to finish his performance degree at Texas State University studying under Professor Mark Cruz. He started his teaching career at the Austin Arts Academy teaching guitar, piano, and ukulele to students of all ages.  William enjoys practicing and playing music with others in his off time. He also enjoys spending time at home with his wife and daughter.
